About
NINA FAYE MOREY
Nina Faye Morey is a Canadian freelance writer, editor, and artist. She has a B.A. in Sociology and a B.Ed. in English and History. She’s had fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art published in Christian, secular, and literary journals, such as The Canadian Messenger, The Prairie Messenger, Grainews, The Manitoba Co-operator, The Prairie Journal, Write On! and FellowScript. Her devotional, “Called to Create,” and her personal essay on healthy living, “I Will Give You Rest,” were published in the 2015 InScribe Christian Writers’ Fellowship (ICWF) anthology, 7 Essential Habits of a Christian Writer. Her short story, “An Unexpected Gift,” was featured in their 2017 anthology, Christmas Stores & More. Nina writes on topics related to writing, editing, inspiration, health, and history. Her current writing projects include a romantic suspense novel and a collection of her poetry, prose, and artwork.
Nina is a member of ICWF's Executive and has served as the former columns editor and is currently the editor-in-chief of their member magazine, FellowScript. She is also a member of the InScribe Press team, which will be publishing a new InScribe anthology, Easter Stories & More, in the fall of 2020. Her other memberships include the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild and the Innovative Toastmaster Club.
Nina was awarded the ICWF’s Barnabas Fellowship in 2015, a cash grant that enables an InScribe member to further their writing career. Her contest entries “Crash and Burn” in the Fiction-Adult Short Story Category and “Until Death Do Us Part” in the Nonfiction category were awarded third-place in InScribe’s 2015 Fall Contest. Nina also won both the Spring and Summer FellowScript Writing Contests for her personal essays, “If I’d Only Known,” and “What’s So Great About Conferences,” that were published in the May and August 2015 issues of FellowScript magazine.
Like her writing, Nina has undergone several revisions along the way – a wife, mother, university graduate, serial careerist, writer and grandmother. She has worked in the education, library, administrative, and sales fields. After the joy of raising two children and several pets, she’s now blessed with three grandchildren, a grand-dog and a grand-cat. In addition to writing, she enjoys reading, walking, and collecting little treasures that her children more commonly refer to as “mom’s junk.” She also delights in taking frequent trips to visit with her grandchildren and in taking annual motor-coach tours to several interesting destinations across Canada. All of these pursuits provide fertile fodder for her creative writing.
